R&D Incentives

 

In Quebec, all eligible R&D expenses are deductible. Governments allow current and capital expenditures to be deducted in the current year or later. The net cost of an eligible $100 R&D expenditure ranged from $24 to $42 in 2006.

 

Tax holiday for foreign workers

 

Foreign researchers and other experts enjoy a five year holiday from provincial income tax when they move to Quebec to engage in R&D work for a company.
