The bioinformatician creates, develops and enhances programs and software that allow biological data to be stored, classified and analyzed. It builds a bridge between biology, which is necessary for interpreting biological data and the computer-based methods needed to process and analyze this data.

Main duties

1. Manage, analyze and interpret biological data using computer-based methods

2. Model molecules, cells and carry out DNA sequencing operations using computer-based tools

3. Develop, program and ensure the proper functioning of the computer and software tools

4. Develop solutions to automate thre processing of omic data

Initial training


  • IT profile: bachelor’s degree in computer science, programming or software development
    •  Postgraduate (master’s and Ph.D. level) specialization in biology or life sciences
  • Scientific profile: bachelor’s degree in biology, biomedical sciences or related disciplines
    • Postgraduate (master’s and Ph.D. level) specialization in bio-informatics
