Industries Mobilized for Climate Action and Transition
Innovation
En cours
These days, the economy is challenging, politics are tense, and we know it: businesses must refocus on their priorities to ensure their survival. Climate change therefore rarely tops the list. IMPACT brings it back to the table, without taboos.
Because ultimately, the real question for SMEs is quite simple: what do we have to gain from joining the transition? what do we have to gain from joining the transition?
A solid ground for sustainable business
IMPACT is a project born from a shared realization among Québec’s industrial clusters. Faced with the climate emergency, new international regulations, and pressure from markets and investors, decarbonizing industries is no longer optional—it is a strategic necessity for the competitiveness, resilience, and attractiveness of our businesses. Yet, while 82% of Québec companies believe it is urgent to act, nearly half have not yet begun any process (Québec Net Positif, 2024).
IMPACT can count on an unprecedented collaboration among six industrial clusters:
Launched in spring 2026, its mission is to help companies within these clusters take action toward decarbonization, ensuring the long-term sustainability of Québec’s industries. As the first inter-cluster project of this scale, IMPACT takes four main pathways to achieve this objective:
01 — INSPIRE
Inspiring companies to take action by promoting real stories of Québec SMEs that have acted on climate;
02 — ENCOURAGE
Encouraging them to make explicit commitments to take action;
03 — INFORM
Informing them about existing solutions and training managers across various functions in decarbonization;
04 — EQUIP
Equipping them to take concrete action by supporting their efforts to reduce their carbon footprint.
By pooling the expertise, networks, and resources of the clusters, IMPACT creates a strong collective lever, building momentum for action and economies of scale, thereby reducing the financial and operational burdens of the transition for each organization.
